Homemade Granola Bars

I’m not entirely sure why I’ve had this sudden urge to become so domesticated but while the going is good I decided to make homemade granola bars. I found a ‘no bake’ recipe which I was tempted by but in the end I decided on this Jamie Oliver recipe. (What did we do before we had Google?)

Considering my baking record I was pretty stoked with the results. I even got a message from my husband saying he tried one for breakfast and that they were ‘surprisingly filling’ (now considering my husband is an absolute savage when it comes to food, barely taking breaths between bites just to get more food in his gob, I’d say that’s praise enough for everyone to consider trying these out). 


When they first came out of the oven I was a bit worried that I’d perhaps overdone it on the oats and not put enough liquid in but by the following morning they were lush and not dry at all. Cheeky self high five – I really have no shame! 


If I do another batch I’ll add less nut butter and more honey but that’s just down to personal taste. The recipe is good as gold and I have breakfast for the next 2 weeks.  What’s not to like?
