Because I have an actual fragrance collection! Something I discovered when I spent the morning tidying out my wardrobe. I’ll be honest, when I was growing up the idea of owning even one of these ‘fancy’ fragrances would have been a pipe dream, let alone being the proud owner of eight bottles! Silly as it may sound, it’s not something I take for granted as it genuinely brings me joy whenever I get to pick a fragrance to wear. These fragrances are a treat but they also make me feel good about myself. That’s something we should all pay good money for – things that make you feel good about yourself. Granted it may not be perfume, but whatever that thing is that makes you feel good about yourself, do it.
Fragrance compliments of me
I’ll hold my hands up and say I have not bought every bottle you see in these pics. I’m lucky enough to have a husband who travels a fair amount with work. Nine out of ten times he always buy me a beautiful fragrance at duty free on his way home. I don’t know if he knows this, but he was the person who introduced me to the world of fragrance. It was circa 2007 when he bought me a bottle of Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey on one of his work trips to Singapore and I’ve been hooked ever since.

The last 2 fragrances I bought myself were Flowerbomb by Victor & Rolf and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Both very heavy on the floral notes so if floral is not your thing, I would say avoid. I love the packaging of the Daisy by Marc Jacobs – super cute. I’m running low on both fragrances as they have both been my go to in the Spring/Summer season. I always get loads of compliments.
Compliments of the husband
Compliments of my husband was the Allure by Chanel and the Versace Eros Pour Femme. I would put the Allure down as a more of a grown up floral scent – it’s fast becoming my new favourite fragrance. Shock horror, the Versace is a floral number too but I love that it has woody undertones. What hits me first is always the smell of lemon, and it transport me straight to Italy! I had to Google all the notes but if it’s of interest: Top notes are Sicilian Lemon, Pomegranate and Calabrian bergamot; middle notes are Lemon Blossom, Jasmine Sambac, Jasmine and Peony; base notes are Musk, Ambroxan, Woodsy Notes and Sandalwood.

Compliments of work
I work in the beauty industry and one perk of the job (there are many) is working with many incredible brands and also being able to attend some amazing events that showcase even more incredible brands. Stories No.1 is one such brand and also the least floral of the fragrances so far. It’s an absolute bloody delight, the staying power of this fragrance is unbelievable and I’d personally put it up there with the likes of Chanel.

I’ve been working with Italian Fragrance brand Carthusia for almost 2 years now and they gifted me their Corallium when I first started working with them. It’s not a fragrance I would usually go for, I far more prefer their A’mmare and Fiori di Capri but it’s still a cracking fragrance that I use from time to time. I like the bergamot and white musk tones but it’s a little on the woody side.

I’m a CEW member and the last 2 fragrances I’m going to talk about were included in the goodie bag at the CEW members product demonstration evening. Energy Edeniste is a new fragrance that was only launched back in 2022. It has a splash of citrus mixed in with bergamot and a hint of musk. It’s not getting as much use as the other fragrances I have because I like them more. Jury is out on this one.
Lalique Soleil Vibrant is far too fruity/sweet, even for someone like me who loves all things floral. I absolutely love the bottle though! This fragrance also launched in 2022. Top notes are Clementine, Pear, Ginger and Bergamot; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Jasmine Sambac and Saffron; base notes are Bourbon Vanilla, Dreamwood and Cedar.

That’s a wrap on all the fragrances I currently own. I’d call this a Saturday well spent, even if my living room currently smells like a hookers boudoir.
